Marina Elena Cazzaniga, MD received her medical degree in 1992 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Milan and she specialized in Medical Oncology four years later. Fellow from 1992 till 1996 at the Oncology Unit at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza and National Cancer Institute in Milan, in 1999 she became full-time Assistant Director at Treviglio Hospital, being Responsible for Breast Cancer Trials and Quality Manager for the Oncology Unit. In 2007, she became full-time Assistant Director at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, where she still works as Head of the Oncological Day Hospital Unit and Responsible for the Clinical trials Operation Office. In 2011, she became adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Milano-Bicocca for the course of Medical Oncology and in 2012 adjunct Professor at the University School for General Practinioner at the same University. In February 2017, she became Director of Phase 1 Clinical Research Unit. Since February 2019, she is guest researcher at School of Medicine and Surgery, University of Milano Bicocca and scientific ASST Delegate at BiCRO – Bicocca Clinical Research Office. She was involved in more than 100 clinical trials mainly in the area of breast cancer as Principal Investigator, Scientific Coordinator of national and international studies and member of IDMC of 3 clinical trials in breast cancer. Prof. Cazzaniga is Author and Co-Author of various papers and over 100 scientific communications, speaker or moderator at national and international Congresses, scientific Coordinator of the Italian network HERMIONE, an independent network performing trials on breast cancer and since February 2018 President of the “international School of metronomic chemotherapy – ISMe”, a web-based, e-learning school aiming at knowledge spread in the field of metronomic chemotherapy.
